Our Largest Youth Activism Conference Ever!

On Friday, November 6th, Mikva Challenge hosted its largest Youth Activism Conference to date; over 300 young activists from 34 Chicago area high schools attended the event. The theme of the event was "An Activist's Toolbox" - so students learned about using the media to frame their issue, the power of survey research, analyzing power structures, the importance of youth civic engagement, organizing a community around an issue, peace-making strategies, and more.

The young leaders who attended this event are all participating in Mikva's Issues to Action program, through which they are developing their action projects on issues in their schools and communities. This day-long event provided students with tangible tools to help them push their issues forward. These young leaders will present their year's work at our Annual Civics Fair next May.
