Youth Safety Council To Appear on CAN TV

Mikva Youth Safety Council members, Sarah Martinez (right), Nathaniel Hayes (left), and Edward Ward (center) stopped by CAN TV studio recently for a taping as guests on Thom Clark’s show "Community Media and YOU".  Thom Clark is the President of the media group Community Media Workshop.

On the show, the three members of Mikva’s Youth Safety Council discussed the findings of Mikva Challenge's youth violence survey, collected earlier this year. The survey was completed by 758 high school students in Chicago and later analyzed by members of the Youth Safety Council. Sarah, Nate and Edward also reflected on how violence has affected their personal lives, their involvement with the Mikva Challenge, and their aspirations for the future. The Youth Safety Council, Education Council, and Mikva’s Teen Health Council are working on some tough issues this summer and are lobbying for their causes indirectly and directly using media and non-media outlets.
