Mikva Youth Leaders Hold Press Conference on Youth Violence
On Friday, July 31, 2009, Mikva Challenge's Education, Teen Health, and Youth Safety Council members held a press conference at the Joyce Foundation to brief the public on youth violence. In attendance were representatives from the Mayor's Office for Community Safety Initiatives (Christopher Mallet), the Department of Family and Support Services (Christian Denes), Chicago Sun Times Columnist (Mark Brown), Chicago Public Radio (Rob Wildeboer), and UNIVISION. Educators from Chicago Public Schools and local advocates for youth violence prevention also attended the event.
