Associate Coordinator for the Midwest Coalition for Human Rights
The Midwest Coalition for Human Rights (MCHR) is seeking a full-time Associate Coordinator to work with diverse regional partners to increase the Coalition’s effectiveness and visibility to promote and protect human rights in our region. The Associate Coordinator will work with member organizations to implement the Coalition’s two-year programmatic objectives on Fair and Humane U.S. Detention Practices, funded through the U.S. Human Rights Fund. The goals of the program are to promote human rights in the U.S. by 1) reforming the immigrant detention system; 2) promote humane treatment and conditions in U.S. jails and prisons; and 3) promoting U.S. ratification of the United Nations Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture (OPCAT). Communications Specialist, Equal Justice Works
The Communications Specialist will work with a dynamic staff to develop and execute communications strategies for program and development initiatives. Primary responsibilities entail developing all forms of communications with external audiences, including e-newsletters, website, social media, blogs, PowerPoint presentations, video productions and public and media relations
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree with 2-4 years of related experience in marketing communications, and/or media relations, skilled at and engaged with blogging and online social media sites, managing e-communications, and the interpersonal skills and professional presence to have a positive influence on external audiences .
