Elections in Action Teacher Application

Our Elections in Action (EIA) teachers help their students gain hands-on campaign experience at the local and national levels.  If you are a teacher who has participated in EIA in the past and would like to continue in the 2008-2009 school year, or if you are a new teacher to our program, please download the application below.  Applications are due no later than June 30, 2008:

We ask that EIA teachers who are planning to participate in elections trips with students also submit a Notice to the Principal form, downloadable below, by September 5, 2008:

Project Soapbox Applications

Mikva is now accepting applications from teachers interested in teaching our Project Soapbox public speaking curriculum in Fall 2008.  This week-long curriculum, sponsored by the Illinois Bar Foundation and the Mikva Challenge, helps students develop their public speaking skills.  Local attorneys help to facilitate this curriculum with teachers in the classroom.  Teachers receive a $125 stipend for participating in the workshop.

Student Election Judge Applications (for current student election judge teachers only)

Applications are available below for teachers to distribute to students interested in serving as election judges on November 4th.  This application is only for those teachers who are currently participating in Mikva's Elections in Action program. 

The priority deadline for applications and parent permission slips is June 12, 2008 (click below to download both). Please fax them to Ciana Ashton at (312) 863-6341.  If you have any questions, contact Ciana Ashton at ciana@mikvachallenge.org
