Center For Action Civics

Welcome to the Center for Action Civics!

The Center for Action Civics is a project of Mikva Challenge, a non-partisan organization that challenges high school students throughout Chicago to be active participants in the political process through elections, activism and policy-making programs.

At The Center for Action Civics, we:

  • know that young adults learn civics best when they are actively engaged in democratic activities inside and outside the classroom
  • believe that our schools, neighborhoods and city can be transformed by the insight and expertise of these young civic leaders
  • know that teachers and schools are the centerpiece to developing future civic leaders, activists, and policymakers
