DONORS

The Mikva Challenge process works: we teach civics by doing civics.

Help us develop super citizens!

Join the growing group of people who have become first-time donors to the Mikva Challenge!
When you donate to the Mikva Challenge, you are investing in the long-term leadership development of young people like Marc Ford and Ladarius Beal.

Marc and Ladarius blossomed through their involvement with the Mikva Challenge. Both young men campaigned for presidential candidates with Mikva Challenge in swing states last year. Even though they worked on different campaigns – Marc volunteered for Obama, and Ladarius for Huckabee – on these campaign trips, they found themselves part of a decade-long tradition at the Mikva Challenge: they experienced the excitement of election season first-hand, canvassed neighborhoods, called local voters, and immersed themselves in the political debates of the day.

Marc, Ladarius and countless other Mikva youth have found their political voice through Mikva Challenge because they were able to get out of the classroom and experience democracy first-hand with other citizens. They felt the heart-pounding nervousness of knocking on voters’ doors for the first time and the thrill of meeting their candidate at a rally.

The only way to reach more young people like Marc and Ladarius is to expand the reach of Mikva and its programs.  That is why your involvement, in any capacity, is so valuable to so many young people. Every donation makes a difference...

  • $25 covers transportation for 15 citywide youth council members to meet with their decision-makers at their downtown office.
  • $100 pays for a day’s work at the polling place by a Mikva-trained student judge.
  • $500 sponsors one peace project grant for a group of youth leaders.
  • $1000 provides for a civic leadership scholarship for one Mikva senior.
  • $5000 pays for a teacher to run a Mikva program in her classroom for an entire school year.

Please support the Mikva Challenge. All donations make a difference in the lives of these young leaders! We need your help now more than ever. Donate now to help change the life of another Chicago high school student through political participation!

We hope you will also consider making a legacy gift to support Mikva Challenge civic education programs in the future. Please contact our Development Director, Kelly Rolf, at (312) 863-6390, for more information on planned giving opportunities.
